Below you will find several thoughts that may help you estimate what materials you will need and how much to get. We hope this will be helpful in calculating your materials
HINT #1 - 12' x 12' x 2" = 1 Cubic Yard. This is roughly the size of a Chevy S10, a Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma bed that is "water level full". HINT #2 - Using ABC or Crusher Run stone 1 load will cover roughly 100 feet of driveway that is 12 feet wide up to a depth of 4 inches. This is a load based on a tandem truck size. HINT #3 - Using washed stone (67/57/5/78M) a load (tandem truck size) will cover roughly 225 feet of driveway that is 12 feet wide up to a depth of 2 inches. HINT #4 - When estimating Flagstone a one ton pallet will cover roughly 100 square feet (veneer). HINT #5 - If you are building a dry stacked wall a pallet (1 ton) you can construct a 40 foot X 8 inch high wall. HINT #6 - A tandem dump truck load of Rip Rap will cover approximately 325 square feet. HINT #7 - When calculating cubic yards remember it (length X width X depth) divided by 27 will give you the amount of cubic yards. HINT #8 - When all else fails please give us a call and we will figure it out together.
